Soap Bubble Cleaning is a small local residential and commercial cleaning company that provides high quality cleaning services to families and companies in the Durango, CO area. 

Below is a general description of a day in the life as a Soap Bubble Cleaning Technician, and characteristics of individuals who thrive with us:

Soap Bubble Cleaning’s official operating hours are Monday - Friday, 8am - 5pm in residential homes. A small portion of our staff work Monday-Friday 5pm-10pm after business hours in commercial spaces. In the summer months, we clean a small number of vacation rentals on weekends as needed. Soap Bubble specializes in a variety of cleaning services, including recurring maintenance cleaning, deep cleaning, and move-out/in cleaning. 

Each day, Soap Bubble cleaning techs are responsible for navigating to their scheduled clients' homes in their personal vehicles, and communicating their estimated arrival time to clients with our company app on their personal smartphones.

Cleaning technicians visit 2-3 residential homes per day. While techs mostly work alone for recurring cleaning services, the ability to work as a team is critical for larger homes, move-out/in  and deep cleaning. 

Soap Bubble has a full-time scheduling coordinator available to techs to call or text in the moment with needs or operation challenges. Examples of common challenges include finding a home, gaining access to a home, confusion with client’s request, or requesting to go to a home early. Our full-time manager also is available for techs to call or text to communicate job information such as broken items, time requests off, and unexpected situations such as illness or disgruntled clients. 

Soap Bubble provides cleaning techs with a complete cleaning supply to perform the job, including blue microfiber towels and mops. Staff is responsible for washing and drying their towels and mop heads as needed at home. Additionally, a Soap Bubble loaner vacuum will be provided through training and for the first month of employment with the expectation full-time techs will acquire their own vacuum cleaner. 


Soap Bubble pays our technicians weekly available for pick-up at our office on Main Ave, along with weekly requested cleaning supplies. All staff have keys to the office, and are welcome to resupply whenever is most convenient for them.


New techs must complete two weeks of training and are paid $18 per physical hour. During training, new techs are matched with our lead techs to learn the Soap Bubble efficient perfect maintenance cleaning methods while on the job in client’s homes. During this time, new techs observe how to interact with clients, how to manage supplies, and how to complete job checklists. At the end of training, new techs complete room specific pass/fail training, to ensure they are ready to work independently. After 8 days of training, competency is evaluated and completion of our end of training multiple choice test is required.

Once a new tech is cleared to work without a lead, compensation shifts to commission pay. Commission pay is an adjustable percentage of each job completed by a technician based on the number of hours completed per week. On average, full-time cleaning techs working 35 hours/week make $700-$900 weekly.


The success of Soap Bubble Cleaning depends on our ability to find Rockstar cleaning technicians. We work closely with each other and within the personal spaces of our community; therefore staff with high integrity is a must. We look for individuals who are consistent and reliable, who take pride in their work and care about helping others. Other valuable qualifications include strong communication, eye for detail, ability to manage time and work independently.
